The top performers on the S&P 500 were Franklin Resources Inc (NYSE:) which rose 4.55% to 20.68, Nordson Corporation (NASDAQ:) which was up 3.33% to settle at 256.03 and CenterPoint Energy Inc (NYSE:) which gained 3.06% to close at 26.94.
The worst performers were Moderna Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 6.47% to 81.04 in late trade, Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:) which lost 6.12% to settle at 20.10 and Tesla Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 5.65% to 210.66 at the close.
The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Staffing 360 Solutions Inc (NASDAQ:) which rose 155.00% to 3.06, Faraday Future Intelligent Electric Inc (NASDAQ:) which was up 123.96% to settle at 8.04 and GD Culture Group Ltd (NASDAQ:) which gained 97.71% to close at 7.75.
The worst performers were Revelation Biosciences Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 40.19% to 1.25 in late trade, Vision Marine Technologies Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 30.00% to settle at 4.20 and Holdco Nuvo Group DG Ltd (NASDAQ:) which was down 27.03% to 0.27 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1894 to 932 and 93 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 2229 fell and 1080 advanced, while 131 ended unchanged.
