Illit officially launched their music career last month when the South Korean girl group dropped their debut EP Super Real Me. Just a few weeks later, the lead single from the short set has reached the most important songs chart in America, helping the quintet make history in the largest music market in the world.

“Magnetic” debuts on the Hot 100 this week. Illit’s single opens at No. 91 on the ranking of the most-consumed tracks in the U.S. this frame.

Illit earns their first placement on the Hot 100 with “Magnetic,” and as they land on the tally, they join a very exclusive club. The band is just the seventh girl group from South Korea to score at least one appearance on the ranking.

As “Magnetic” arrives on the Hot 100, Illit joins a list of some of the most successful girl groups in K-pop history. They follow in the footsteps of all the following all-female musical troupes from South Korea who have also landed at least a single win on the tally: Blackpink, Fifty Fifty, Le Sserafim, NewJeans, Twice, and Wonder Girls.

At the same time that “Magnetic” debuts on the Hot 100, the single also opens on another Billboard chart. The tune starts at No. 7 on the World Digital Song Sales tally, which regularly features many K-pop stars.

The Super Real Me EP arrived on the World Albums chart last week. It debuted at No. 5, giving the band their first win on that ranking. This frame, it falls slightly, landing at No. 6.
