Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the added 0.89%, while the index added 0.74%, and the index gained 1.77%.
The best performers of the session on the were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:), which rose 4.32% or 10.20 points to trade at 246.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Merck KGaA (ETR:) added 2.65% or 4.40 points to end at 170.75 and Siemens AG Class N (ETR:) was up 2.61% or 4.54 points to 178.82 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Covestro AG (ETR:), which fell 1.66% or 0.81 points to trade at 48.10 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:) declined 1.04% or 0.37 points to end at 35.20 and Zalando SE (ETR:) was down 0.90% or 0.22 points to 24.15.
The top performers on the MDAX were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 5.37% to 91.25, Jenoptik AG (ETR:) which was up 4.87% to settle at 29.30 and Aixtron SE (ETR:) which gained 4.22% to close at 21.99.
The worst performers were Evonik Industries AG (ETR:) which was down 5.25% to 18.69 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:) which lost 1.96% to settle at 28.50 and K+S AG (ETR:) which was down 1.84% to 13.06 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (ETR:) which rose 6.46% to 57.70, Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:) which was up 5.37% to settle at 91.25 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:) which gained 4.87% to close at 29.30.
The worst performers were Energiekontor AG (ETR:) which was down 0.83% to 71.40 in late trade, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:) which gained 0.12% to settle at 48.10 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which was up 0.14% to 14.42 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 356 to 239 and 42 ended unchanged.
Shares in Merck KGaA (ETR:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 2.65% or 4.40 to 170.75. Shares in Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.12% or 0.06 to 48.10.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.17% or 27.35 to $2,374.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.51% or 0.37 to hit $73.62 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.52% or 0.40 to trade at $77.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 104.35.
