Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the rose 0.84%, while the index climbed 0.24%, and the index added 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the were Airbus Group SE (ETR:), which rose 4.15% or 5.78 points to trade at 145.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:) added 3.64% or 1.77 points to end at 50.34 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:) was up 2.60% or 0.90 points to 35.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Qiagen NV (ETR:), which fell 0.91% or 0.38 points to trade at 41.22 at the close. Merck KGaA (ETR:) declined 0.70% or 1.00 points to end at 140.95 and Brenntag AG (ETR:) was down 0.52% or 0.32 points to 61.72.
The top performers on the MDAX were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:) which rose 2.64% to 6.31, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which was up 2.39% to settle at 12.01 and Traton SE (ETR:) which gained 2.31% to close at 28.75.
The worst performers were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:) which was down 8.51% to 33.00 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which lost 3.75% to settle at 56.40 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:) which was down 2.45% to 41.48 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Atoss Software AG (ETR:) which rose 3.36% to 123.20, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:) which was up 2.63% to settle at 45.24 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which gained 2.39% to close at 12.01.
The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which was down 3.75% to 56.40 in late trade, Energiekontor AG (ETR:) which lost 1.53% to settle at 41.90 and 11 AG (ETR:) which was down 0.99% to 11.96 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 385 to 234 and 29 ended unchanged.
Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR:) rose to all time highs; up 3.64% or 1.77 to 50.34. Shares in Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 8.51% or 3.07 to 33.00.
The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.45% to 15.84.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.04% or 1.01 to $2,665.81 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.19% or 0.13 to hit $68.85 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.25% or 0.18 to trade at $72.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 106.16.
