Tiffany Stratton took one giant leap toward stardom at WWE Money in the Bank 2024.

The 25-year-old former NXT standout outlasted five other superstars to win the coveted women’s Money in the Bank briefcase. Stratton was able to eek by Chelsea Green to grab the briefcase, and now, she’s just one cash-in away from becoming world champion.

Widely praised by pro wrestling legends such as Paul Heyman and Booker T, Stratton is perhaps the most highly touted NXT call-up from the women’s division WWE has ever had. When promoted to the SmackDown roster in early 2024, expectations for Stratton were already sky high, but the strong crowd reactions she quickly generated even took WWE officials by surprise.

No one should be surprised, however, that Stratton is now Ms. Money in the Bank.

Despite rumors of backstage heat leading to a de-push on-screen, WWE officials reportedly see big things in Stratton’s future. According to a recent report by PWInsider, “Stratton’s been nothing but praised by management and other talents since moving to the main roster a few months back. Despite the rumors, we are told that Stratton’s status within the company is unchanged and she remains on good footing, as she’s seen as someone with a very high upside by management.”

Just half a year into her stint on SmackDown, Stratton became just the eighth-ever women’s MITB winner, joining a prestigious list that includes the likes of Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Bayley and current Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. Thus far, every single women’s MITB holder who’s been able to cash in has done so successfully, and there’s little reason to believe that Stratton won’t follow suit.

The WWE women’s division that has revolved largely around the same handful of stars for the past half decade. That includes Becky Lynch, who’s currently a free agent, as well as future Hall of Famers like Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair. Every so often, a new star or two is able to break through and win world championship gold, such as Sky, Morgan and Rhea Ripley.

But with the vast majority of WWE’s women’s roster staying from away from the world title picture, Stratton is the perfect candidate to breathe new life into the championship scene.

Although Stratton has been wrestling for less than three years, she’s already had a handful of star-making appearances, including an incredible showing in this year’s Elimination Chamber match and a stellar performance against Becky Lynch at NXT’s No Mercy event last year.

The Money in the Bank briefcase is the perfect catalyst for a Stratton. Why? Well, the briefcase is best utilized for a heel, and it’s supposed to serve as the launching pad for a rising star. Stratton, of course, checks both of those boxes as a new star who performs as a villain and is the ideal candidate to capture gold via cash-in.

There’s no rush with Stratton, either.

WWE creative head Triple H has shown that he has plenty of patience when it comes to long-term storytelling, and he is able to consistently create compelling content that keeps the majority of WWE’s stars in relevant storylines. Stratton has already acclimated quite well to the main roster, but with up to another year under her belt before she cshes in, there will be little doubt about whether she’s ready.

Stratton is the real deal, and once she cashes in that MITB briefcase, she’ll prove it.
