The animated adventure series Blood of Zeus returned to Netflix this week for Season 3. Is another season on the way?

Created and written by Charley Parlapanides and Vlas Parlapanides, Blood of Zeus kicked off in 2020 with its first season consisting of eight episodes, and returned for Season 2 and eight more episodes in 2024. Both seasons of Blood of Zeus scored perfect 100% “fresh” ratings from Rotten Tomatoes critics.

Blood of Zeus Season 3 arrived on streaming on Thursday and Netflix and like the previous two seasons, it consists of eight episodes.

Unfortunately for fans of the series, Blood of Zeus Season 3 is also its final season. The announcement of Season 3 on July 27, 2024, per Deadline, came with the bittersweet news that the show would not be back for Season 4.

In a video posted on the Blood of Zeus YouTube channel on Wednesday, Charley Parlapanides and Vlas Parlapanides expressed their gratitude to the show’s viewers.

“We just wanted to thank all the fans that have supported the show over the years,” Charley Parlapanides said in the video. “It’s been three incredible seasons across five years and we’re eternally grateful for all your support, and we just ask that if you love Blood of Zeus, if you love Castlevania — if you love shows like this — please keep watching because that’s the only way the streamers will continue to make more shows like this.”

What Is ‘Blood Of Zeus’ Season 3 About?

The official summary of Blood of Zeus Season 3 reads, “After the events of Season 2, the clash between gods and demigods is brought to the brink as Heron’s battle continues amongst the likes of Ares, Athena, Persephone and Hades.”

In the video thanking fans for supporting the series, Charley Parlapanides alerted fans to “be prepared,” adding, “In Season 3, it’s all out war and we didn’t want to pull any punches. If we were going to release Typhon and Kronos and the Titans, we knew there’s going to have to be bloodshed, but we think it’s earned, but just prepare yourself. It’s a heck of a ride, but it does get bumpy.”

Also in the video, Vlas Parlapanides said Blood of Zeus Season 3 is “the most engaging of the three seasons and we think everyone’s going to love it.”

“Yes, it is a roller coaster, yes, it is intense at times, but the payoff is amazing and it has an emotional wallop of an ending that you’re all going to love — guarantee it,” he added.

Blood of Zeus Season 3 is already getting love from Rotten Tomatoes critics, as it has a 100% “fresh” rating. However, the rating is based on only five reviews as of Friday, so it could change. Seasons 1 and 2 of the show’s 100% “fresh” ratings were based on 21 and 15 reviews, respectively, on RT.

Blood of Zeus Season 1 received an 87% “fresh” rating on RT’s Popcornmeter based on 1,000 verified user ratings, while Season 2 earned a 97% “fresh” rating on the Popcornmeter based on 100-plus verified user ratings.

Blood of Zeus stars the voices of Derek Phillips as Heron, Elias Toufexis as Seraphim, Fred Tatasciore as Hades, Claudia Ann Christian as Hera, Jean Gilpin as Gaia, Jessica Henwick as Alexia, Chris Diamantopoulos as Evios, Matt Lowe as Ares, Alfred Molina as Cronus and Jason O’Mara as Zeus.
