Burger King famously claimed in one of its slogans that at the chain, you can “have it your way” — but does “your way” differ depending on which country you’re in?

The first Burger King restaurant opened in 1954 in Miami. Burger King now has ‎more than 19,000 locations worldwide, with just under 7,000 restaurants in the US.

According to The British Franchise Association, there were 533 Burger King restaurants in the UK as of June 2022. In a press release, Burger King also announced plans to open 60 new restaurants in the UK in the next two years.

In honor of National Cheeseburger Day on Wednesday, we revisited our experience of eating at two Burger King restaurants — one in the United States and one in the United Kingdom — in February 2024 to compare the taste and value of the same menu items and see which items were exclusive to each country.

We also compared the interiors of the restaurants and the overall dining experience. Prices and conditions may have changed since we ate at these two Burger King locations.
