Manufacturing airbags, seat belts and steering wheels, Swedish automotive supplier Autoliv announces its intention to reduce its workforce in France by 20%, by eliminating positions and relocating certain activities. In total, 320 positions will be eliminated in 2024 and 2025, mainly in production, but also in sales, administrative services and R & D. The Swedish group has four main sites in France, in Pont-de-Buis -lès-Quimerch (Finistère), Chiré-en-Montreuil (Vienne), Gournay-en-Bray (Seine-Maritime) and Survilliers (Val-d’Oise). The workforce reduction plan should enable Autoliv to save $25 million in 2026. Globally, Autoliv plans to cut 8,000 positions, or 11% of its workforce. The company achieved $8.8 billion in revenue in 2022.
