An “exceptional emergency fund” of 50 million will be released for those affected by storms Ciaran and Domingos in Brittany and the Channel, said Christophe Béchu, Minister of Ecological Transition, on France Inter this Friday, November 17. This fund will be intended for affected residents, while a state of natural disaster cannot be declared for such a meteorological event. The France Insurers federation estimated the damage caused by these storms at 1.3 billion euros for 517,000 claims, of which 5% concerned professional, agricultural and local authority property. Marc Fesneau, Minister of Agriculture, announced a fund of 80 million euros for farmers whose harvests have been compromised in the north and west of France.
