Samsung wants to democratize AI on smartphones thanks to Galaxy AI, the new intelligence that the company has just presented and which will equip the Galaxy S24.
The Korean company is putting both feet into artificial intelligence. After unveiling “Gauss”, its generative AI yesterday, Samsung presents its mobile counterpart, “Galaxy AI”, a “universal intelligence” which will be directly integrated into its future high-end smartphones.
Samsung wants to put Galaxy AI in your pocket
“Galaxy AI is universal intelligence on your phone like you’ve never seen before. Wherever it matters most – from barrier-free communication to simplified productivity to unconstrained creativity – we unlock new possibilities. »
It is with these words that Samsung presents its new AI which will exploit both the power of the cloud, but also the computing power of its future Galaxy S24 (via the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400 chips).
The first feature highlighted by Samsung in its presentation article is “AI Live Translate Call”. The latter will allow native translation of conversations in a foreign language, directly from the Phone application.
“Audio and text translations will appear in real time as you speak, making calling someone who speaks another language as easy as turning on subtitles when you’re streaming a show. »
Samsung assures that these conversations will remain private as they will never leave the phone. Here again, the power of the integrated chip will play a key role.
Galaxy S24: European users can now cross their fingers
Galaxy AI will be available early next year, which corresponds to the launch window of the Samsung Galaxy S24. The integration of this artificial intelligence should be an important selling point for the company. It is rumored that the service could be offered in the form of a subscription, but this remains to be confirmed.
