Taylor Swift and Morgan Wallen might not be making the same type of music, but they do have some things in common. Both artists regularly top the Billboard 200, they’re among the most successful acts on Billboard’s country charts of the past several decades, and they command massive fan bases. Recently, a new common thread between the two artists emerged as their latest albums were named among the most popular in the world.

According to the IFPI–International Federation of the Phonographic Industry–both Swift and Wallen claim at least two of the top 10 most-streamed albums in the world in 2023. The music industry-focused organization reported a list of the most-streamed, bestselling, and top-selling vinyl titles in the world last year, and both acts appeared more than once.

Wallen’s One Thing at a Time ended 2023 as the top-streamed album in the world. It is joined inside the top 10 on this specific tally by his previous full-length, Dangerous: The Double Album, which settles at No. 9. That set came out in 2021 but is still streaming extremely well, especially in America.

Swift doesn’t appear as high as Wallen on the ranking of the most streamed albums globally last year, but she does beat him in other ways. The pop and country superstar claims three spaces inside the top 10, showing her power on streaming platforms. Midnights lands at No. 3, followed by Lover at No. 6 and 1989 at No. 10.

Her domination of the most-streamed albums list isn’t contained to the top 10, though. Swift has two other titles on this 20-spot tally, as the masses all around the world can’t stop pressing play on most of her collections. Folklore comes in at No. 14, while Reputation is down at No. 18.

Two other musicians appear on this competitive chart more than once, though they didn’t manage even one appearance inside the top 10, let alone a pair. The Weeknd sits at Nos. 7 and 17 with Starboy and After Hours, respectively. Drake lands back-to-back wins with Her Loss (with 21 Savage) and For All The Dogs, which settle at Nos. 15 and 16, respectively.
