Venture Fund to Back Hedera Network Innovators
The Swiss-based Hashgraph Group has secured a fund management license from the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) in the United Arab Emirates. This license, granted to Hashgraph Ventures Manager, allows the company to launch a $100 million Web3 venture fund out of ADGM.
Hashgraph Group will contribute $20 million, or 20% of the fund, as seed capital. The fund will focus on investing in early-stage and established companies within the Hedera ecosystem. Stefan Deiss, co-founder and CEO of Hashgraph Group, stated that the fund has received significant support and interest from co-investors.
“We have received a lot of interest in our Web3 ventures fund from existing co-investors and ecosystem partners, including government institutions, sovereign wealth funds, venture capital funds, family offices, and other qualified investors. We pay particular attention in the selection of strategic co-investor partners to build a diversified portfolio of assets across target industry sectors,” Deiss said.
The CEO added that the group will focus on investments in companies leveraging the Hedera network and fostering collaboration among Web3 companies.
Kamal Youseff, president of the Hashgraph Association, expressed the non-profit’s eagerness to co-invest in entrepreneurs and enterprises building the next generation of Web3 solutions with a positive socio-economic impact.
The fund will prioritize strategic investments in Web3 and deep tech companies developing solutions in artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, robotics, and quantum computing. Qualifying projects will have the opportunity to participate in the Hashgraph Association’s venture studio program.
“We assess investment opportunities on the basis of key commercial and technological criteria to make well-informed investment decisions, while leveraging our extensive experience and expertise in deep technologies to secure alpha for our investors as we nurture and scale impactful companies across multiple sectors and geographies, driving sustainable innovation that make lives better,” Andrew Forson, Head of Ventures & Investments at The Hashgraph Group, added.
