Exchanges of goods, sponsorship, income… Sporsora is producing, ahead of the 2023 Rugby World Cup, from September 8 to October 28, a summary infographic of the key figures of the sporting competition. I subscribe
750 million euros. This is the estimated amount of revenue from the 2023 Rugby World Cup, recalls the interprofessional organization of players in the sports economy Sporsora. More than half (51%) is attributed to ticketing (between 350 and 380 million euros), 36% to hospitality (around 270 million euros) and 13% (100 million euros) from the marketing program – cash investments, merchandise exchanges and other marketing income. “In 2023, rugby celebrates its 200th anniversary with a World Cup organized in France. This tenth edition of the most prestigious global rugby competition promises to be a marketing and popular success, confirms Magali Tézenas du Montcel, general director of Sporsora. The sponsors clearly understood the opportunity represented by such an event on French soil. There are 37 of them, combining global sponsors and national sponsors, to have responded to the call for France 2023.”
The major partners (Société Générale, Mastercard, Capgemini, Defender, Emirates, Asahi Group Holdings) contribute 15 to 20 million euros at the event which should generate a profit of around 40 million euros for France.
