SINGAPORE (Reuters) – Economists have upgraded their outlook for Singapore’s economic growth in 2024 to 3.6% expansion, with a majority expecting monetary policy settings to be unchanged in an upcoming review in January, a survey by the central bank showed on Wednesday.
The median forecast of 25 economists surveyed by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) on economic growth compared to a 2.6% forecast in a September.
Only 33% of economists polled expect a monetary policy loosening in January via a reduction in the S$NEER slope, compared to 50% in September.
