Shark Tank” star Kevin O’Leary says he thinks Elon Musk is a superhero — specifically, the real-life version of Gotham City’s caped crusader.

“I think that guy is a modern-day Bruce Wayne,” O’Leary said of Musk in an interview with Fox News’ “The Big Money Show” on Tuesday, likening Musk to Batman.

“You know, I have to disclose something. I am a huge fan of Elon Musk, and for full disclosure, my son works for him and loves his job at Tesla,” O’Leary said earlier in the interview.

O’Leary also said he thought that if Musk joined the government, “it would be a good thing for everybody in America.”

“The guy’s a no BS guy. He’s very transparent, and he really knows what he’s doing. He has executional skills. You may not like him, you may not like his communication style, but look at what he’s accomplished,” he added.

“If we could get more Elon Musks in the government, this country would not be in the situation it’s in, divided so much,” O’Leary said.

To be sure, Musk hasn’t always been keen on a role in the public service. In May, Musk refuted a report from The Wall Street Journal about talks regarding a role for him in a future Trump administration.

“There have not been any discussions of a role for me in a potential Trump Presidency,” Musk wrote in an X post in May.

But during his livestream with former President Donald Trump on Monday night, Musk floated the idea of him serving on a possible government efficiency commission if Trump wins the election.

“I think it would be great to just have a government efficiency commission that takes a look at these things and just ensures that the taxpayers’ hard-earned money is spent in a good way, and I’d be happy to help out on such a commission,” Musk said on Monday.

“I’d love it,” Trump replied.

Meanwhile, O’Leary’s latest comments on Musk align with the previous compliments he’s given the Tesla chief.

“You think about what that man’s accomplished and how he’s changed everybody’s lives — space, what he’s done with electric cars, making the economy greener. Should we punish him for that? Is he a bad guy?” O’Leary said while defending Musk’s massive fortune during an interview on “Real Time with Bill Maher” in November 2021.

But O’Leary’s fellow “Shark Tank” star, Mark Cuban, has a very different stance on Musk — and politics.

While Musk has gone all-in with his support for Trump, Cuban has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris. Cuban has also accused Trump’s billionaire backers of trying to take over the Trump campaign and “to put themselves in a position to have as much control as possible.”

“They want Trump to be the CEO of the United States of America, and they want to be the board of directors that makes him listen to them,” Cuban said in an interview with “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart that aired on Monday.

Representatives for O’Leary and Musk didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider sent outside regular business hours.
