A clip of a heated conversation between Real Madrid ace Jude Bellingham and teammate Aurelien Tchouameni, seemingly arguing about who the better player is between Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe, has gone viral on social media.

The 15-second video in question was shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, by a Bellingham fan account.

It shows the Englishman sat across from Tchouameni and telling the Frenchman that a player, whose name is bleeped out but believed to be Haaland, is a “great guy, bro”.

“He’s a great guy?” asks Tchouameni, seemingly uninterested and playing on his phone.

“He’s an unbelievable guy,” Bellingham reiterates, before being told by Tchouameni: “We don’t care”.

Across the room, another Les Bleus star in Eduardo Camavinga pipes up and interjects by saying, “Man, shut up” to Tchouameni, who again insists: “We don’t care”.

Bellingham then playfully mocks Tchouameni’s English-speaking accent by igniting the row further and stating: “But he’s better than your boy”.

“Which one?” Tchouameni enquires.

And while once more the name given but believed to be Mbappe’s is censored, it causes Tchouameni to scoff “nah, bro” before he then repeats the word “please” in protest.

As also pointed out by Spanish newspaper AS, the two unrevealed players in question are widely concluded to be Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe on social media.

Bellingham is close friends with the now-Manchester City striker from their time at Borussia Dortmund together, and it makes sense that Tchouameni would defend his international teammate and compatriot if Bellingham is saying that Haaland is the better of the two often compared forwards.

It is currently unclear when the conversation was recorded, and if it came before or after Mbappe told current club Paris Saint-Germain he will leave them at the end of the season according to The Athletic.

MARCA reported that Mbappe has already signed a five-year contract with Madrid president Florentino Perez, though nothing has been confirmed or made official yet.

In any case, if the move finally goes ahead after two false dawns in 2017 and 2022, things could start out frosty between Bellingham and Mbappe should he catch wind of the clip already seen by close to a million X users at the time of publishing.
