Snow White — Disney’s live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs starring Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot — is coming soon to digital streaming.

Directed by Marc Webb, Snow White has been plagued with various controversies since the film went into production more than three years ago. Among the controversies were Zegler’s critical comments about the 1937 original tale, divisive political social media posts and Disney’s decision to make the seven dwarfs CGI characters after actor Peter Dinklage criticized the idea of using actors born with dwarfism playing the roles.

Rated PG, Snow White stars Zegler in the title role and Gadot plays the Evil Queen. However, there are several departures from the storyline of the original 1937 animated based on the classic Brothers Grimm fairytale.

Among them is the replacement of the prince character by a bandit named Jonathan (Andrew Burnap), which resulted in the omission of the animated film’s song “Someday, My Prince Will Come.”

There are also changes to at least one of the dwarf characters and a different ending since the prince character doesn’t exist.

Snow White is set to arrive on digital streaming via premium video on demand on Tuesday, May 13, per Prime Video, where the film is up for pre-order for $29.99 (which is also the film’s purchase price. Digital rentals are typically $5 less than purchase prices, so viewers can expect to rent Snow White for $24.99 for a 48-hour period.

Snow White will also be available on on a variety of other digital platforms, including AppleTV and Fandango at Home.
