The worst performers of the session were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (NS:), which fell 3.06% or 11.20 points to trade at 354.25 at the close. Bharti Airtel Ltd. (NS:) declined 2.06% or 36.50 points to end at 1,734.60 and HDFC Bank Ltd (NS:) was down 1.73% or 30.80 points to 1,752.65.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO:) which rose 2.67% to 1,949.00, Titan Company Ltd (BO:) which was up 1.58% to settle at 3,817.00 and NTPC Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.51% to close at 440.95.
The worst performers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO:) which was down 2.75% to 355.20 in late trade, ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:) which lost 1.80% to settle at 1,307.00 and Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.74% to 1,739.15 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1273 to 1226 and 84 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1883 fell and 1882 advanced, while 115 ended unchanged.

USD/INR was up 0.08% to 83.69, while EUR/INR rose 0.03% to 93.47.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 100.16.
