Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the gained 0.42%, while the index added 0.41%, and the index fell 0.04%.

The best performers of the session on the were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:), which rose 3.38% or 1.67 points to trade at 51.06 at the close. Meanwhile, Vonovia SE (ETR:) added 2.78% or 0.86 points to end at 31.76 and Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:) was up 2.67% or 3.30 points to 126.90 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:), which fell 1.95% or 0.60 points to trade at 30.20 at the close. Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR:) declined 1.51% or 1.20 points to end at 78.48 and Bayer AG NA (ETR:) was down 1.42% or 0.29 points to 20.00.

The top performers on the MDAX were Bilfinger SE O.N. (ETR:) which rose 4.84% to 47.65, RTL Group SA (ETR:) which was up 4.05% to settle at 27.00 and Tui AG NA (ETR:) which gained 3.33% to close at 8.74.

The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which was down 12.19% to 54.05 in late trade, Stabilus (ETR:) which lost 3.73% to settle at 32.30 and SCHOTT Pharma AG & Co KgaA (ETR:) which was down 3.13% to 26.00 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Kontron AG (ETR:) which rose 6.46% to 18.47, SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR:) which was up 2.43% to settle at 50.50 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:) which gained 1.53% to close at 34.40.

The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which was down 12.19% to 54.05 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which lost 1.87% to settle at 8.65 and 11 AG (ETR:) which was down 1.25% to 12.68 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 314 to 311 and 26 ended unchanged.

Shares in Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR:) rose to all time highs; up 2.67% or 3.30 to 126.90. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) fell to 5-year lows; down 12.19% or 7.50 to 54.05. Shares in Stabilus (ETR:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.73% or 1.25 to 32.30. Shares in Tui AG NA (ETR:) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.33% or 0.28 to 8.74. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) fell to 5-year lows; losing 12.19% or 7.50 to 54.05.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 1.24% to 13.45.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.43% or 38.99 to $2,757.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.01% or 1.38 to hit $69.97 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.58% or 1.14 to trade at $73.33 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.82.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 106.21.
