Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher while losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the rose 0.12%, while the index lost 0.01%, and the index declined 0.88%.

The best performers of the session on the were Adidas AG (ETR:), which rose 8.72% or 17.65 points to trade at 220.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:) added 2.01% or 0.35 points to end at 17.73 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:) was up 1.88% or 0.24 points to 13.04 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Continental AG O.N. (ETR:), which fell 5.47% or 3.58 points to trade at 61.90 at the close. Merck KGaA (ETR:) declined 2.58% or 3.90 points to end at 147.20 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) was down 2.51% or 8.50 points to 329.70.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:) which rose 3.52% to 1.77, Puma SE (ETR:) which was up 2.91% to settle at 41.40 and Aurubis AG (ETR:) which gained 2.84% to close at 74.35.

The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which was down 5.34% to 96.55 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:) which lost 3.46% to settle at 21.48 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:) which was down 3.09% to 24.44 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which rose 1.70% to 47.84, Freenet AG NA (ETR:) which was up 1.22% to settle at 26.48 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:) which gained 1.10% to close at 29.32.

The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which was down 5.34% to 96.55 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:) which lost 3.46% to settle at 21.48 and Jenoptik AG (ETR:) which was down 3.09% to 24.44 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 332 to 278 and 31 ended unchanged.

Shares in Adidas AG (ETR:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 8.72% or 17.65 to 220.15. Shares in Aixtron SE (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.46% or 0.77 to 21.48. Shares in Aixtron SE (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.46% or 0.77 to 21.48.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.44% to 17.04.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.42% or 10.15 to $2,397.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.51% or 2.14 to hit $83.22 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.50% or 2.25 to trade at $87.77 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 106.08.
