Fortnite and Star Wars have had many collaborations over the years. We’ve hacked our enemies down with lightsabers, taken bounties as The Mandalorian and fought our way to victory as just about every Star Wars character imaginable. But this coming season marks the biggest crossover with a galaxy far, far away so far.
That’s because the entire season is Star Wars-themed, with a Battle Pass that includes a whole suite of Star Wars characters like Emperor Palpatine and Jar Jar Binks, much-altered map that brings lots of fun Star Wars locations to the game, new weapons, vehicles and more. As the new season approaches, so does the Imperial Death Star, which now looms ominously in the sky above the island.
Let’s take a look at everything new headed to Fortnite this weekend with a Friday launch date, just in time for May the 4th, aka Star Wars Day. We’ll start with the trailer:
Season 3 Timeline
As you can see at the end of that trailer, the upcoming season will be blocked out into chapters or episodes. These include:
- Episode I: Imperial Takeover – May 2nd
- Episode II: The Pull Of The Force – May 8th
- Episode III: Mandalorian Rising – May 22nd
- Episode IV: Star Destroyer Bombardment – May 29th
- Episode V: Death Star Sabotage – June 7th
If this is the entire season, we’re looking at a shorter-than-usual run, which is probably a good idea. We wouldn’t want Star Wars to outwear its welcome.
A New Star Wars-Themed Map
Here’s the newly revealed Chapter 6, Season 3 Map:

As you can see, four new special locations have appeared on the map, all with a Star Wars connection. There’s the Resistance Base up in the northwest corner. The dastardly First Order has set up a base in the northeast corner. In the southeast, the Outpost Enclave should give rebels more cover. And finally, in the southwest corner we have Vader Samurai’s Solitude.
New Vehicles And Weapons
The coolest part about this update is the addition of flyable vehicles in the form of X-Wings and TIE Fighters. The former can carry a pilot and three passengers while the former can only carry the pilot and one passenger. Lightsabers and blasters should also return, along other weapon changes.
New Battle Pass
A number of Star Wars-themed skins are headed to the Season 3 Battle Pass, including General Grievous and Poe Dameron. You can read all about the new Battle Pass skins right here.
Star Wars LEGO
Unsurprisingly, Star Wars is also coming to LEGO Fortnite this week. There’s only a brief teaser:
There will be more news and announcements as we get closer to the new season, and of course plenty of updates and changes during Season 3’s run. Stay tuned!
