Thélios, an eyewear entity of the LVMH group, has signed an agreement for the purchase of Barton Perreira, an American eyewear manufacturer appreciated by movie and music stars, AFP learned on Sunday from the company, confirming information from the Wall Street Journal. Thélios confirmed to AFP that an agreement had been signed and that the closing of the operation should take place in the next weeks.
The entity’s general director, Alessandro Zanardo, told the Wall Street Journal that the Barton Perreira brand “is well known and well established in the United States”. “But we see a major opportunity for expansion”he specifies.

The American economic media, citing anonymous sources, indicates that the operation values the eyewear manufacturer founded in 2007 at approximately $80 million (a little less than 75 million euros at Friday evening prices).

At the beginning of September, Thélios bought the French brand Vuarnet from the British investment fund NEO Investment Partners. It was about his first acquisition and the amount of the transaction had not been communicated.
Thélios was originally a company created by LVMH with the Italian Marcolin before becoming an entity 100% owned by LVMH end of 2021.
