The CEO of Naver Pay has expressed his excitement for the partnership, stating, “This partnership with Chiliz marks a significant milestone in our journey towards integrating cutting-edge web3 technologies as part of our global expansion. The partnership will be utilized by the majority of the South Korean population, with 33 Million registered users, and will cater to 18 Million daily users. They will collectively aim to fasten the fan token ecosystem of the Chiliz Chain and devise strategies for exclusive ticketing and payment services, along with hosting various fan-centric events.

Chiliz has an existing partnership with world sports giants includingTottenham Hotspurs, FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester City, and has recently expanded to partnerships with football leagues such as the K League and Ligue 1. Recent partnerships have been inked to deliver blockchain-basedsolution in the sports sector.

The synergy in the fintech, sports and entertainment sectors is anticipated to benefit South Korea’s sports enthusiasts.
