Blackpink singer Jennie has released a pair of solo singles this year, in both instances serving as a featured artist on tunes fronted by other musicians. Nothing she’s dropped in 2024 has turned out to be anywhere near as big as her breakout smash, which came out in 2023 and which is still surging on at least one ranking in America.

“One of the Girls” by Jennie–along with The Weeknd and Lily Rose Depp–rises to a new peak on this week’s Pop Airplay chart. The song jumps from No. 21 to No. 18 on the ranking of the tunes that earn the largest number of audience impressions across pop radio stations in the U.S., entering the top 20 for the first time.

As her cut lifts several rungs, Jennie now claims one of the five highest-charting tracks by a South Korean solo musician in the history of the Pop Airplay chart. Her smash lands in fifth place on this all-time ranking, and its ascent looks like it may continue.

Now that “One of the Girls” has reached a new peak of No. 18, Jennie’s hit has passed Jung Kook’s “3D” for the honor of sitting in fifth place on this list. Before this frame, when the track’s high point was No. 21, she ranked one space behind Jung Kook and Jack Harlow’s collaboration, which stalled at No. 20 during its time on this tally.

The highest-charting song in the history of the Pop Airplay chart–when looking specifically at music made by South Korean solo artists–is still “Gangnam Style” by Psy. That cut remains the only tune fitting this description to reach the top 10, as it once climbed all the way to No. 10.

Jung Kook claims the next three highest-charting songs by solo musicians hailing from South Korea on the Pop Airplay chart. He’s proved to be a powerhouse at pop radio in the U.S. in only a year or two, and several of his singles that have reached this list have performed well enough to enter the top 20 on the competitive roster.

Jung Kook and Charlie Puth pushed their collaboration “Left and Right” to No. 11 in 2022. In 2023, the BTS star featured on The Kid Laroi’s “Too Much” with Central Cee, and the three musicians pushed that cut to No. 15. Jung Kook and Latto’s “Seven” rose as high as No. 17 last year.

Jennie may soon match, or perhaps even beat “Seven” in the coming weeks. “One of the Girls” looks like it could continue its upward surge, and the Blackpink star may continue to rewrite this record.
