Formula One fans are getting closer to the action than ever, thanks to Binance. The world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange has revealed the helmet design Pierre Gasly will wear at the Australian Grand Prix—an artwork crafted by a fan and transformed into a striking mural in Melbourne.

The winning design, submitted by Brazilian fan Tiago Barra, was selected from over 500 entries in the Pierre Gasly Helmet Design Contest, a global competition hosted by Binance. Featuring Australia’s national colors—green and gold—the design showcases local icons like the kangaroo and emu, with nods to racing circuit heritage.
To bring this vision to life, renowned Australian street artist Matt Adnate created a breathtaking mural against the Melbourne skyline, capturing the helmet’s intricate details. The artwork also features an eagle, Victoria’s native bird of prey, symbolizing speed, precision, and the fierce spirit of F1 racing.
Adding a high-tech twist, fans can engage with the helmet through an interactive augmented reality (AR) experience, seamlessly integrated into the mural. By scanning a QR code, fans worldwide can explore the full design from every angle, bringing them closer to the race than ever before.
A Helmet with a Purpose
Beyond its on-track debut, Gasly’s Australian Grand Prix helmet will be auctioned after the race, with proceeds benefiting CROW Youth Boxing, a local charity empowering First Nations youth.
Gasly shared his excitement:
“The mural brings the winning helmet design to life in such a bold way. The contest showcased the passion and creativity of fans worldwide, and it’s incredible to see their vision take shape. Binance continues to push boundaries, bringing fans even closer to the sport. I can’t wait to wear this design on track in Melbourne.”

For Tiago Barra, the contest was a dream come true: “I still can’t believe I won! Seeing my design come to life on the track and in the mural is surreal. The gold and green represent Australia, while Binance’s signature colors blend in perfectly. I wanted to capture Pierre’s resilience and the raw speed of F1.”
Binance Strengthens Its F1 Connection
Sarah Dale, Binance’s Global Head of Partnerships, highlighted the deeper significance of the initiative: “Following the success of last year’s campaign, this year’s competition saw incredible global engagement. The mural and AR experience take it even further, bringing fans into the heart of the action. Our partnership with Pierre and BWT Alpine F1 continues to create unique, immersive experiences that bridge the worlds of crypto and motorsport.”
